OK; we're done fussing with the course and updating this. (Hah! Follow the trail markings and signs, not this; we sometimes have to change stuff, even on race day! This will be very close, however.)

Dog Drool (Trail Review):”Dark, darker, and darkest”. Headlight and / or hand lights are highly recommended as trail is rocky, rooty, and damn geo-web that is like a bear trap. Pacing description, “Don’t get hit by car, flat & fast, Up, blind left turn, skinny & flat, left, left. Down, down, modest hills, don’t get hit by car, aid station. Mini Aid Station.

An uncertain period of awaiting a decision, and intermediate state of condition. Relax as you run on fast trails & easy dirt roads and wonder if a succubus or incubus will posses you in Hell. Horse Trails near the end require strong visual focus and weak nostril flaring. Last mile & a half has 2-way traffic with Section E, pink. Drop Light zone at end.

First mile & a half has 2-way traffic in opposition of Section B-White. The path to Hell is the river of death, “Styx”. Your tormented soul is ours. Life jacket or swim wings optional. If a shoe comes off, just reach into the mud, there are plenty of them in there. Cool off in the Hell Creek. The Hell Hole Bar is a good place to mail a postcard for the HELL postmark! Bag Drop zone at end of section. Move your used bag to the Drop Dead Bag zone for return to Half Moon.

Nice uphill road, whacked Buttslider trail, rock piles and whipsaws before casual downhill on Poto to Silver Lake. Merges with Relay 2 (Pink) about a half mile in. The section begins in the blazing fury of Hell and finishes with a cool splash in the lake... if you want.

The regions of Hell conceived of as a bottomless pit. At corner end of parking lot, follow Ultra -PINK, right. (Relay turns left on pink and white), 50k runners are envious to not experience the suspicious looking stuff in The Abyss. Pop out onto the Poto (go LEFT!) and in a bit merge with Relay out to the aid station at end of Scout Camp single track.
